Yoke is a travel order management web app that assists aviation schools in approving the documentation and licenses of their student pilots prior to takeoff.
Problem Statement
Flying schools from the Philippines still use spreadsheets, physical folders, and filing cabinets to keep student pilot's licenses and documents. This system makes requesting travel orders inefficient and ineffective for staff and students.
Lack of consistent communication was also one of the problems discovered, particularly in issuing results and updating the student files. That leads students to go in and drop off these files physically.
Solution
Utilize student's data through automation while helping flying schools make more financial gains by making it more efficient and productive. YOKE provides a better organization system to track the travel orders requested by student pilots efficiently and effectively.

User Research
The purpose of the case study, done on September 15th and 16th of 2022, is to understand the pain points encountered by administrative staff and pilot students from flight schools in the Philippines, regarding the travel order process. For that, it was asked about the current system in place used by staff and followed by the students.
User Interviews
Three users, 2 were administrative staff and 1 was student pilot, from the Philippines answered a semi-structured interview about their daily work routine and common procedures, through zoom meetings and recorded with their vocal consent.
After analyzing the results of all interviews, there was a unison on the thought of letting students be more active in the process, the establishment of stable communication between the school and students, and a more efficient way to execute the pre-rooted procedures.
